Here's the deal. Four years ago, I taught in Korea for a not-very-nice man who made my life difficult and from whom I fled after the fifth month of my twelve month contract. He DID, however, get me my E-Visa (after a great deal of pressure from me) and I did NOT get a letter of release from my contract. (ie: I got on a bus to Seoul airport and flew home, not wanting to give him any excuse to make life even more difficult for me). Dumb, I know. Tsk. My question is this: I've since got a new passport which (obviously) contains no reference to my previous Korean adventure, so would I be safe to go back to teach? Particularly to a different province? Or will I immediately show up on some 'escapee from Korea' database and be taken outside Incheon Airport after a summary trial and shot in the head.
